Outboard Drives

The simple design offers a complete engine/drive/steering system that mounts on the deck of a board or a barge that requires no separate engine room, through-hull shafting, fuel tank or control station. Fasten it in place, fill it with fuel, and you're under way. Move it to another vessel, if necessary.

  • Steering - Full power hydraulic steering is standard. Hydraulic power is produced by variable displacement steering pump which provides constant steering speed independent of engine speed.
  • Thrust - Full propeller thrust is provided through a continuous 360 degrees by rotation of the lower drive assembly.
  • Chassis - The entire propulsion system is mounted on a chassis constructed of rectangular tubular sections, to provide a high degree of stiffness with low weight.
  • Propeller - Large diameter, 3 blade, low speed propellers are used to provide more pounds of thrust per horsepower. Diameters range from 30"-58" standard. Propeller speeds range from 391-562 RPM.
  • Lower unit hydraulic hold-down release - Allows propeller and lower gear box to swing back and ride up and over submerged objects.
  • Anti-cavitation plate - For applications where propeller tip submergence presents a problem.
